The 2015 Senior Safety Seminar will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the Heritage Hjemkomst Center, 202 1 Avenue North, Moorhead, from 9 am - 2 pm. The seminar is sponsored by Minnesota AARP; Moorhead Senior Connections; and Valley TRIAD, a partnership of seniors, law enforcement personnel, and local service agencies. This partnership promotes safety for seniors, the reduction of unwarranted fear of crime, and the opportunity for the exchange of information between law enforcement and adults 50 and over.
Presenters for this event will be the U.S Marshals Service, BCA, ATF, and DEA. There will also be a demonstration by Clay County Sheriff Deputy Corby Nelson and his new K-9 partner Deekon. See the 2015 Senior Safety Seminar Schedule for details.
Vendor booths will be open from 9 - 10 am to allow seniors to visit with representatives on a variety of senior-related topics including housing, volunteerism, and elder services.
A complimentary lunch will be provided by AMVETS POST NO 7.
There is no charge for the seminar, but reservations are required. To register, call 218.299.5340. Questions can be directed to Julie Marxen, Moorhead Senior Connections Program Coordinator.
