During the holiday season, we experience an extremely high volume of cardboard recycling. Minnkota will increase the frequency of their pick-ups and we will place extra roll-off containers at the Youth Hockey Arena, Woodlawn Point , Public Works Facility, and the Southside Regional Park Recycling Drop-off locations. These roll-offs will be for cardboard only, please do not put yard waste, garbage, or any other materials in these containers. Placing other material in these containers will contaminate the roll-off and it will be placed in the landfill instead of being recycled. These collection points are under camera surveillance 24/7, so your cooperation is appreciated.
You can also help by flattening your cardboard boxes before you place them in the recycling dumpster. Please remove all Styrofoam from cardboard boxes (Styrofoam can’t be recycled and must be placed in your garbage). Don’t put old electronics, such as TVs, in cardboard boxes and place them in the recycling dumpsters. Take your electronics to the Clay County Electronics Collection location behind the DMV at 1300 15 Ave N. They are open year round every Tuesday from 4-6 pm and there is no charge for dropping off your electronics.
