Moorhead Assistant Building Official Tim Friedt now Certified Plumbing Plan Reviewer
On March 13, 2017, City of Moorhead Assistant Building Official Tim Friedt was certified by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) as a Plumbing Plan Reviewer after passing a written exam on the Minnesota Plumbing Code and participating in an interview with Minnesota DLI staff.
Building Official Jack Nyberg reports, "There are only 34 cities in the state of Minnesota that do their own plumbing plan reviews. The competency exam that Tim passed is a comprehensive test that proves an individuals plumbing code knowledge, the ability to discern discrepancies on submitted plans, and effectively write a review response back to the submitter indicating what portions of the plans need to be revised for code compliance."
Tim joined the City of Moorhead team in August 2016 after working in the private sector for more than 10 years. He holds a Master Plumber certification and graduated from M|State with a Plumbing Technology degree.
