Officers were called to take a report of a dog bite the occurred the afternoon of Wednesday, July 19. The adult female victim reported walking eastbound on 3rd Ave S near St. Joseph's church. As the victim was approaching the area of Townsite Park, the 900 block of 3 Ave S, she heard a dog barking and then saw a dog approaching her, eventually biting her in the calf causing her to fall to the ground. The victim was able to fight off the dog and it then ran away in an unknown direction.
The victim described the dog approximately 2 feet tall and 3 feet long with short hair(black, white, and brown in color) with a short tail. She believed the dog was possibly a Pit bull.
The victim was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
