Moorhead Police responded to a construction site located in the 1000 block of 38 Street South at approximately 1:30 p.m. in reference to men in a vehicle displaying handguns and making threats. Cell phone text message threats throughout the day between the men reportedly resulted in two men coming to this location for a confrontation. A felony traffic stop was conducted by police on the vehicle resulting in the confiscation of a 9 mm and 40 mm handgun. Kyler James Kleppe (22 years old from Mayville) and Eddie LaStarr Darden (22 years old from Dilworth) were taken into custody without incident and are being held in the Clay County Jail on Felony 2nd Degree Assault charges. The investigation is on-going. A long form complaint will be requested through the Clay County Attorney's Office for review for all appropriate charges.
