Post Date:05/04/2018 7:37 pm
At 3:37 pm on Friday, May 4th, 2018, Moorhead firefighters were called to a fire in a residence at 201 9th St S in Moorhead. A neighbor and passer-by noticed smoke coming from the home, alerted the occupants of the fire and called 911. Upon arrival, crews discovered flames and black smoke coming from an entryway/three season porch in the back of the residence.

The fire was declared under control at 5:47 pm, and caused significant fire damage in the entryway and light smoke damage throughout the home. An adult male and three dogs, home at the time of the fire, escaped without significant injuries. Damage estimates are not currently available. The Moorhead Fire Department has determined the cause of the fire to be accidental from improperly discarded smoking materials.
