On May 30th, 2019 at around 06:41 PM Moorhead Police responded to the 1500 block of 20th Avenue South on a report of an unknown disturbance. While Officers were responding to the original call another call for service was dispatched in the same area that a male was possibly struck by a vehicle. Officers later arrived and were able to determine the calls were related.
Upon arrival Officers made contact with several individuals at a residence along with a male and a vehicle west of that residence. During the course of the investigation it was determined there was some type of disagreement between individuals that were associated with one another and an assault occurred. As a result of the assault a male was struck with a blunt object and suffered non –life threating injuries. The victim declined on scene medical care by FM Ambulance for his injuries. A suspect was identified and a male was taken into custody. 24 year old Gordick John Swain of Fargo was transported to the Clay County Jail and is being held on probable cause for Felony 2nd Degree Assault (weapon) pending formal charges from the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
