On 9/29/19 at approximately 11:52pm, dispatch received a call from a citizen who reported seeing people forcing their way into an apartment unit at 911 23rd Avenue South in Moorhead.  One of the suspects was in possession of a handgun.  Officers and Deputies arrived and were approaching the building when they saw the suspects enter a vehicle and begin driving away.  Deputies, Officers, and MN State Patrol were able to stop this vehicle a couple blocks away in the 2300 block of 8th Street South.  All five adult occupants were taken into custody without incident.  A handgun was located inside the vehicle.

This incident is still in the early investigative stages.  However, based on the information obtained up to this point, the suspects targeted this specific apartment and people with the purpose of robbing one of them of drugs.  It is also believed that everyone involved knew each other.  One victim received a minor head injury as a result of the robbery.  He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Detectives are still conducting interviews and processing evidence.  The names of the suspects taken into custody will not be released at this time.  All five adult suspects are expected to be charged with Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery.

These suspects were able to apprehended quickly because of alert citizens and the cooperation of our area law enforcement agencies.
