MOORHEAD, MN (March 30, 2020): The National Weather Service has projected the Red River of the North will crest on Friday, April 3 at 31 feet. The City’s flood response team is meeting daily to monitor conditions and determine daily steps in executing the City’s flood management plan for the projected river level. City employees are closing gates and monitoring pumps in neighborhoods to ensure infrastructure continues to work as intended. “While this is considered major flood stage,” says City Engineer, Dr. Bob Zimmerman, “31 feet is a very manageable event for our City.”
