The City of Moorhead has received a grant award of $18,918 from the Center for Tech and Civic Life to provide supplies and support to make the 2020 General Election safer and healthier for poll workers, voters, and staff participating in the election process.
City Clerk Christina Rust notes that the grant allows the City to replace all existing voting booths with new booths made from smooth surfaces easy to disinfect. Other uses of the grant include extra cleaning and personal protective equipment. The Mayor and City Council accepted the grant at their meeting of September 28. Acting City Manager Dan Mahli notes, “I am proud that our staff pursued this grant that makes our local election safer and saves taxpayer resources by securing grant funding. This is good government in action.”
The General Election is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Additional information about voter registration, polling places, and absentee voting is available at cityofmoorhead.com.
