Moorhead Public Service is experiencing rolling blackouts approximately every 30 minutes. The rolling blackouts started at 10 am today and will occur until further notice.
The rolling blackouts are conducted during times of energy emergency, and will help prevent circumstances from getting worse. The loss of power generation throughout the nation is due to the extreme winter storms.
The City of Moorhead Fire Department is responding to multiple alarms triggered by the power outage. Please stay vigilant for the possibility of fire, but recognize that the alarms may be due to the rolling blackouts.
Moorhead Public Service will provide more updates as information is available. Please minimize the use of electricity when possible.
