MnDOT to conduct drilling along several downtown streets

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will begin geotechnical exploration and drilling along 11 St, Center Ave, Main Ave and 1 Ave in Moorhead this month. The work will take place on public rights of way and several adjacent private properties. Motorists can expect daily lane closures as crews begin drilling and should expect congestion in the area. 

This required work is part of the project development process for the 11 St railroad grade separation project. Crews will be collecting bore samples to test soil conditions and structure for future construction.

MnDOT urges motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
