On January 3, 2022, at 11:03 PM, the Red River Regional Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting gunshots. Officers immediately responded and were able to identify that the shots had come from a residence in the 1200 block of 2 Avenue South.
An adult male was called out of the residence and was detained for questioning. A female and several children were present at the time the shooting occurred. A firearm and spent shotshells were recovered from the scene. There were no injuries as a result of the shooting.
Leon Norman, age 22, of Moorhead, was arrested and held at the Clay County Jail pending formal charges of reckless discharge of a firearm. The female and children stayed at the home after the suspect was removed.
There is no ongoing threat to public safety and no additional information to release
