On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, detectives from the Moorhead Police Department, in collaboration with detectives from the Cass County, ND, Drug Task Force, Clay County Sheriff's Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, Fargo Office, conducted a search warrant in 200 block of 16 Street South. An active investigation led detectives to the conclusion that Cory McKay was trafficking large quantities of controlled substances. During the execution of the warrant, detectives located approximately ten pounds of methamphetamine, which had been transported from out of state for local distribution.

Cory McKay was transported to the Clay County Correctional Facility, and a long-form complaint was forwarded to the Clay County Attorney's Office requesting Felony First Degree Aggravated Controlled Substance charges.
