 THE LUNCH BUNCH: SENIOR MEALS
Lunch Bunch

Monday-Friday   |   11:45 am   |   Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance by calling the Food Site Manager at 218.299.5519 between the hours of 10 am-12:30 pm.  

A hot, nutritious, noontime meal will be provided at the Hjemkomst Center. Residents age 60 and older and their spouse (even if under the age of 60) are eligible to enjoy this meal. A suggested donation of $4 is kindly requested. Persons under the age of 60 are required to pay $7.

NSI provides this service in part, under the Federal Older Americans Act through a contract with the NWRDC under an area plan approved by the Minnesota Board on Aging.

3rd Thursday of the month   |   Easten Fryn' Pan, 2920 Hwy 10 East, Moorhead

Breakfast starting at 7:45 am, Guest Speaker starts at 8:30 am

Each month features a guest speaker with various topics pertaining to the needs and interests of adults 55+. Breakfast will be on your own, ordered off the menu. Space is limited. Register by calling Hope at 218.299.5514 or online here

Memory Cafe is a free social gathering where people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss, and their care partners, come together in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. At Memory Cafe we are committed to reminding our participants they are valued, significant members of our local community by changing the way we think about memory loss.

Healthy Feet Program

Friday, November 4, 2022   |   8:30-11:30 am   |   Call 218.299.5514 to register.

Care for your feet can add years to your life, and certainly improve your quality of life! Foot care clinics are led by Bev Gravdahl, a Registered Faith Community Nurse with a passion for foot care and serving older adults. The cost of a treatment is $40 and includes: foot/lower leg health assessment, Epsom salt foot soak, debridement, nail trim and file, softening of corns/callouses, exfoliation, and lower leg/foot massage.

Through 12 short scenes, the play takes you on a one-year journey with Tim and Amanda in their car, bearing witness to the early progression of dementia. This event includes the performance and facilitated discussion to help you learn more and increase awareness, as well as provide valuable resources for you, your family or friends who are experiencing the effects of memory loss.

Ugly Sweater Holiday Party

Wednesday, December 7, 2022   |   12-1:30 pm

Time for a festive holiday party! Dress up in your ugly sweater and join us for a costume contest for the ugliest and most creative sweater. Feel the festive spirit as the Silver Follies will be performing holiday songs from 1:00-1:30 pm!

The menu is turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, and scrumptious pumpkin dessert. Price is $6/person. Reserve a seat by calling 218.299.5519.

Pickleball

Pickleball

The rules are simple and easy for beginners to learn. Visit pickleball.com for more information and rules of game play. Instructors are not at the location, and those attending will rotate play. Paddles are available upon request and space is limited. No registration required. 

Available indoors for individuals 55+ at no cost: Community Life Center-Good Shepherd, 4000 28th St S, Moorhead on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30 pm starting October 3, 2022 through April 27, 2023.

This class focuses on basic classical yoga postures, alignment principles and breathing techniques. Whether you are brand new to yoga or well on your journey, we will meet you where you are and leave you feeling rejuvenated, elongated and most definitely centered. Yoga mat required.

Water Exercise

Water Exercise

Join our certified aquatics exercise instructor, Anna Donley, in this class that will leave you feeling refreshed and energized! These classes will use a mix of cardio and strength exercises to increase your flexibility, range of motion and tone your body, while maintaining low-impact on your joints. We will incorporate a variety of movements, equipment, and up-beat music to enhance your workout. All ability levels are welcome!

Valley Triad 1

Valley Triad

Valley Triad is seniors, service agencies and law enforcement working together. Valley Triad meets monthly to develop projects and educational programs for Cass-Clay county seniors. Guests are welcome to attend meetings and bring law enforcement concerns to the group for discussion.
