On July 24, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., first responders were called to the 900 block of 18 Street South for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim in a parking lot with a critical gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center.
The Moorhead Police Department is interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood for possible evidence. A suspect has not been identified, and a gun has not been located. Access in and out of the immediate area is limited.
Anyone with information should call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701.451.7660. The Clay County Sheriff's Office, Metro Street Crimes Unit, and the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are assisting the Moorhead Police Department in the investigation.
