On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Moorhead Police Department was dispatched to the 3600 block of 39 Street South for a shooting reported at a residence. No one was injured, and the suspect had fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival. The suspect was identified and known to the victim. No one was injured.
On Tuesday, October 23, the suspect was taken into custody by the Metro Street Crimes Unit without incident, and the Fargo Police Department assisted with a search warrant conducted in Fargo, where a handgun was located that was believed to have been used in the shooting. Francis Ochiti was transported to the Cass County Jail, and a long-form complaint has been forwarded to the Clay County Attorney's Office for Felony Attempted Murder Charges.
