Traffic Alert: Road Closures for 5k and Marathon Weekend in Moorhead
The Essentia Health Fargo Marathon has 2 routes that impact traffic in Moorhead this weekend. The 5k is on Friday, May 30 and the full marathon is on Saturday, May 31. The 5k route will start and finish at Concordia College. The full marathon route will loop through portions of Moorhead neighborhoods.
In addition to the race, there will be road closures that will impact the area around Concordia College for packet pickup at the expo at the Memorial Auditorium May 29 from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm and May 30 from 12 noon - 6:30 pm. The following will be considered no parking, tow-away zones (see map below):
- 7 Ave S between 5 St S and 8 St S
- 12 Ave S between River Dr S and 8 St S
- 5 St S between 7 Ave S and 12 Ave S
In addition to these major street closures, there will be many smaller neighborhood roads impacted. Residents and visitors are advised to plan alternative routes and expect delays in the vicinity of the marathon and other races. Law enforcement personnel will be stationed to assist with traffic control and to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
