The Moorhead Police Department is hosting the first of three Safe City Nights events June 19 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Romkey Park. There will be free food, games, raffle prizes and Dilly Bars, courtesy of 8th Street Dairy Queen. Games to Go will have an inflatable bounce house and a brand-new free bike will be given away at each of the three events this summer, thanks to Moorhead Scheels.
In addition to these fun events, there will be representatives from Moorhead Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Sanford Ambulance, Red River Valley SWAT, Moorhead Fire Department and more. The boys and Girls Club will be on hand with games for kids and Moorhead Police will be fixing bikes for kids for free to make sure they are biking safely this summer. Sanford Safe Kids will be fitting bike helmets for any youth that ride to the event.
The Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League is coordinating this event with the assistance of all the agencies and sponsors listed above, and many more. We look forward to meeting the community in a fun, family friendly atmosphere. Additional events will take place June 26 at Robert Asp Elementary and July 17 at Queens Park, both from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
These summer events are sponsored by Brett Oertli State Farm Insurance and The Krabbenhoft Real Estate Team, two businesses based in Moorhead and dedicated to giving back to their community. For questions, please contact Sergeant Scott Kostohryz at 218.979.0107.
