Surviving an Active Shooter Incident

Print

Have a plan and walk through your plan occasionally to get mental images of how you would respond.  Remember, “The body will not go where the mind has never been”.

Identify improvised weapons within your office or personal space.  Items like fire extinguishers, bladed letter openers or wasp spray can be effective.

A passive response of just hiding does little to save you.  When possible, take over actions to also barricade the space you are hiding in.

Your odds of survival dramatically increase simply by running!
