Geographic Information Systems

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) division employs an enterprise GIS to provide City of Moorhead staff and the public ‘visual’ access to City information. The real power of GIS is the ability it provides to view specific layers of City information over a base map of the City.

Interactive GIS Maps
City of Moorhead GIS provides interactive maps that enable you to view information about the City utilizing a web browser. Interactive GIS Mapping Applications are available for the City that provide the ability to view different layers of information by checking them on or off, such as floodplains, zoning, or property ownership. Historical aerial photographs of the City are also available, including photos of past flood crests.

Static Maps

GIS also provides static maps which are updated on a regular basis and are available in the GIS Map Gallery.
