Dog & Cat Licenses

City of Moorhead Ordinance 3-7-2  requires that you license your dogs and cats. This license must be renewed every year. The Police Department begins to sell new licenses for the coming year on October 15.  To license your pet, you need current rabies vaccination information from your veterinarian.

Here are your options for licensing your pet:

  • License your pet online 
    Your license tag will be mailed to you. An additional $2.00 per license shipping/handling charge is be added.
  • In person at the Police Department at:
    911 11 St N
    Moorhead, MN
    Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • At the following businesses on Saturdays beginning December 2023 from 10am - 2pm
    • December 2:  Muscatell Subaru, 2911 11 St S
    • December 9:  Cash Wise, 3300 Hwy 10 East
    • December 16:  Runnings, 3000 Hwy 10 East
