24-A2-02 - Final Overlays

The proposed project represents the last lift of paving in several subdivisions including Johnson Farms 1st, and 5th, Village Green 6th, and Preserve On Broadway.

These improvements were previously petitioned by the respective Developer of the subdivision and are included in the City Capital Improvement Plan for construction in 2024. The Developer's Agreement for the subdivision states that "the City will establish a date" for the final bituminous overlay construction that is "anticipated to occur within five years of the original street construction". Delaying the placement of the final bituminous surface is a common design practice in the Red River Valley to allow for pavement settlement over excavation trenches associated with utility installation for the subdivision.
